How to Decorate a Book Lover’s Home

Hey there, fellow book lover! Have you ever dreamed of stepping into a world where every corner of your home whispers tales of adventure, knowledge, and imagination? Well, get ready to turn that dream into reality because we’re about to embark on a journey to infuse your living space with the magic of books.

Let’s start with the basics: bookshelves. They’re not just storage; they’re storytellers in their own right. Think about it – every shelf, every stack, every carefully arranged book tells a story, whether it’s a beloved classic, a thrilling mystery, or a light-hearted romcom.

Now, when it comes to choosing the right bookshelf for your space, the options are endless. If you’re tight on space, consider a tall, narrow bookcase that maximizes vertical storage without taking up too much floor space. Got a bit more room to play with? Go for a sprawling wall-to-wall bookshelf that commands attention and serves as a centerpiece for the room.

Take a look at some of my favorite designs below:

Tall, Narrow Bookcase

Wide, Decorative Bookshelf

Once you’ve picked out the perfect bookshelf, it’s time to get creative with styling your bookshelf. Treat it like a blank canvas and let your imagination run wild. Play around with different arrangements – stack some books horizontally, stand others upright, and layer in decorative objects like bookends, vases, or sculptures. The key is to strike a balance between form and function, creating a visually appealing display that’s also practical and accessible.

Some of my favorite shelve decorations are below:

So Many Books So Little Time Wooden Box Sign

Fake Plants

Wooden Puzzle Bookend

There are so many more great options, but we’d be going down a rabbit hole trying to show them all to you. The beauty of it, though, is that you have plenty to choose from! Really, there aren’t limitations. You can choose what you like and make it work. Love animals? Buy some cute figurines. Love funny quotes? Box signs are what you need! The main thing is to have fun with it and make it your own.

When it comes to decorating, we can’t just decorate the shelves. We have to decorate the walls too. And, what better way to do that than with cute home decor like that depicted below?

Minimalist Reading Quote 3 Piece Set

Between the Pages of a Book Sign

Book Definition Panting (I have this one on my library wall!)

Again, these options don’t scrape the surface. So, go to Amazon, or Google, or Pinterest, and start scrolling.

With the walls covered, it’s now time to shift focus towards the furniture. Whether you need a new reading chair or pillows and blankets to liven it up a bit, I’ve got you covered. Everything below comes in a variety of colors, so regardless of what color scheme you go with, something is sure to match!

You’re going to spend a lot of time in a chair reading, so don’t be afraid to spend a little extra and get the one that you love!

You could spend all day scrolling through home decor options and still not see everything. The good news is, odds are, you don’t need to scroll through everything to find something you love.

Happy decorating, fellow book lover!
